3,000 People

A sea of people crosses the street every few minutes at Shibuya, one of the busiest shopping and tranportation areas in Tokyo. I estimate that about 3,000 people cross the intersection every crosssing. The people are coming from twelve different directions. It is an amazing sight.

I have never seen 3,000 people crossing a street at one time. It must have felt very crowded. I hope your were holding hands.

Wow! I think I would feel panicky if I found myself among SO many people. What if you miss crossing in the allotted tim ? How long do you have to wait for the next opportunity to cross ? Are there jaywalkers like in American cities, especially New York? Gaki
